Originality & Disclaimer

People may think that some of the designs in this collection are Nan just ripping off famous artists.

For example, one of the designs is of four soup cans that will remind many people of the works of the late, great Andy Warhol. People who know Andy Warhol’s work will recognize more than one design in this book as being — ahem! — inspired by Andy.

The idea that soup cans could be an object worth painting, and then to give the cans that special Andy Warhol artistry, that is all Andy. Nan did not invent that. Nan doesn’t make that claim.

What Nan is inventing here, if anything, is a unique collection of easy minimalist coloring pages that lets you play in modern art. It pays homage to many of the great modern artists while also breaking them down into their special coloring book essence. She even throws in a few original designs of her own oringinal designs.

Recommended for adults; trigger warnings

Adults need to relax and have some un-stressed time away from screens, or in addition to screens.

The coloring pages are modern minimalist — and easy. This modern soft cover book of thought-provoking and delightful coloring pages is like a visit to a modern museum for colorists. Nice big spaces to color in.

If you are tickled by classic modern and abstract art reduced to coloring pages and would enjoy coloring in some interesting pages, then this may be for you.

If you are yourself a creative or are thinking of giving this coloring book as a gift to another creative, this may be a great purchase. Artists, art students, and designers and creatives who enjoy modern, minimalist aesthetic ideas may especially like this collection.

Not recommended for children. Some of the content is not appropriate for children.

Not recommended for those adults who may not be looking to be triggered by current events, challenging topics like war and migration, or conceptual ideas such as melting clocks, the scream, and many others.

There are many lovely coloring books out there with truly delightful pages (such as Nan’s “Coastal Cottage Experience Adult Coloring Book” or even her “Big Coloring Book of Favorite Best Things About the Four Seasons”). This book of modern & abstract coloring pages is a little different.
